Barmouth, Pont Scethin and 3 mountain passes

Suitable for: Intermediate to Advanced
Ascent:
approx. 32km & 950m ascent

One of our favourite MTB destinations; on a glorious day when you can spot the Isle of Man in the distance or on a wet day when the high mountains are inaccessible, this area is often in the rain shadow and offers better weather than the high hills of central Eryri. The sublime, rocky yet flowing trails offer something for all abilities with the added attraction of starting and finishing in the seaside resort of Barmouth. Ice-cream and a swim anyone?

A good level of fitness is required for this day as we will be ascending around 950m, climbing up and over 3 mountain passes or ‘bwlchs’ in Welsh.  We start and finish at sea level in the beautiful town of Barmouth with its fantastic sandy beach and dizzying array of cafes, bars, and restaurants for those post ride refreshments!

Note: This trip can be done as a shorter ride starting and finishing in Tal-y-Bont rather than Barmouth. Please get in touch to discuss this possibility.
