Cadair Idris ‘Mid Wales Iconic Mountain Summit’

Suitable for: Intermediate Plus
Ascent: 1035m

Mid Wales’s iconic peak makes a fantastic day out for those who haven’t experienced a mountain summit by bike before! It’s a tough climb to the summit with some pushing and a short carry. We’ll show you the best way to carry your bike across your shoulders and ensure the pace is steady and you will have enough energy to enjoy the fast, flowing descent There is everything on this day out: beautiful river side single track, loose, rocky scree, flowing grassy turns, a fun narrow, steep section and a gentle, bridlepath to spin the lactic acid out of your legs on the final return leg to our start point in the village of Abergynolwyn.

Please note that we use the only bridlepath up and down Cadair Idris and it is a less demanding descent than Snowdon but it is NOT a ride suitable for novices. It is a long day out at around 27km but if you are happy on Red and some Black graded trail centre routes and have already done some natural, technical riding then this is the ride for you!
